About this case converter
Retyping text just to change its capitalization is a waste of time, and fixing it letter by letter is worse. This tool rewrites your text into whichever case you need with one click, in your browser. Paste the text, pick a case, and copy the result.
The cases it handles
- UPPERCASE and lowercase are the obvious two, for shouting or for calming text down.
- Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, the way headings and titles are usually written.
- Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence, which is how normal prose reads. It is the one to reach for after you have pasted a block that arrived in all caps.
- camelCase, snake_case, and kebab-case are for programmers. They join words with no spaces, an underscore, or a hyphen, which is how variables, database columns, and URL slugs are named.
Why this is fiddly by hand
The programmer cases are the ones people get wrong manually, because they involve both removing spaces and changing capitalization at the same time. Turning User First Name into userFirstName or user_first_name means splitting on the words, dropping the spaces, and adjusting each letter. The tool does that in one step, and it treats any run of spaces or punctuation as a word boundary so messy input still comes out clean.
Sentence case is the other tricky one, because it has to find where each sentence ends. This converter looks for the start of the text and the letter after each ., !, or ?, which covers ordinary writing well. For unusual punctuation you may want to glance over the result, but for the everyday job of taming a shouty paragraph, it is a one-click fix.
